It's Been Kind of Quiet

Only because I just finished SmokeLong’s March Micro Marathon which got me 21 new pieces for my new chapbook, but phew, I am tired from all of that sustained writing and workshopping. It’s always worth it because I produce so much but it takes a lot of energy to keep that kind of pace. I’m glad I did it but I am also glad it’s over.

The school year has ended here so it’s transition time in Japan. Luckily, I will be staying at the school I work at but I am losing a really good co-worker. Also, my best friends are moving back to America so that’s another hard thing to deal with, but I am happy for them.

The quiet is good and definitely needed but at the same time it allows for intrusive thoughts like why I keep getting all of these rejections. I was really sad to learn I didn’t make a certain grant’s list but I just keep trying.

I did get an acceptance yesterday so that helped even it out! So I will take that for the win!

Finally, just a reminder that I have a plural POV workshop in May and registration opens on April 1! Hope you check it out!

As I wait for this cold snap to pass and the cherry blossoms to bloom, I send you love, light, and most of all, creativity!
