Literary Namjooning, Santa Fe Writer's Project Literary Awards and My New Bike

I hope everyone is doing well… I know that things just keep coming and we get more and more overwhelmed by it all, but I hope that you are giving yourself space for creativity and light.

We just sent out all of our acceptances (congratulations) and rejections (condolences) for our next issue of Literary Namjooning. I am looking forward to sharing all of the goodness with everyone.

I would also like to shout out the Santa Fe Writer’s Project’s Literary Awards (which I won for Bitter Over Sweet in 2023) - they have an early bird submission fee which is good until September 1, so if you have a full length manuscript, please consider sending it in!

Finally, I bought a new bike! I think I am going to name her Shadowfax after Gandalf’s horse as she’s a dark gray and it adds to my nostalgia of my childhood and the Lord of the Ring’s restaurant we had in Kona called Tom Bombadil’s. They had a pizza with green olives (with sauerkraut as an additional topping) called Shadowfax. I know it sounds gross but it was delicious. The coolest thing about this place besides the dishes named after places and characters in LOTR (my favorite was the Hobbiton which was a chicken salad sub) was the gorgeous wall mural of Middle Earth. I really miss that place. I also miss the bookstore we had called Middle Earth. Much sadness.

Meet Shadowfax - she’s a 250cc Suzuki Gixxer - I get her this Sunday! Yay!

Still not writing but I have almost finished the book series I started a couple of weeks back. Sending light, love and lots of creativity.
