Literary Namjooning's 1 Year Birthday, Acceptances and the Kerouac Project
I want to wish Literary Namjooning a big happy birthday!! We are one now! So grateful to Hema for asking me join her! A big shout out to our other editor, Lakshmi, with the announcement of the premier of the documentary she is a part of Love, Chaos, Kin! I also want to welcome our new readers Jenny Wong and Sumitra Singam.
I also want to celebrate two acceptances this past week - one for Prairie Schooner and another for Fractured Lit!! So happy for these. It’s been a slow year for acceptances so I am super thankful for them.
I was asked to join the selection committee for the Kerouac Project - a 2-month residency with a stipend! If you have the means and the ability, I strongly encourage you to apply. There are 6 spots!! The application deadline is May 1. I hope you send in your best 10-page sample!! I look forward to reading it!
Finally, I got the shortlist for Gooseberry Pie’s contest and wow!! I am BLOWN away by the amazing micros you all sent… you definitely are not making this easy for me. I am so grateful that so many of you sent in your work. Thank you!
It’s been a week and I am so ready for the weekend. I hope that you are all doing well and staying as safe as you can… sending light, love and creativity to you all, my friends.
